The benefits of becoming a member of SHESS and that of our national chapter are vast. Members receive discounts on conferences and network with students and professionals.

                 -  One of SHESS' main objectives is to enhance the student's
                    education by providing services. Within the membership, the
                    students learn to tutor and mentor each other providing academic
                    support. Events SHESS offers such as Study-A-Thon aids their
                    concentrations for their examinations.Time management and
                    Engineering in Training Exam workshops are assets to further
                    enhance the student's education.

                 -  The events that SHESS organizes help the students to build up
                    their leadership skills. Events like parent awareness is organized
                    by the students themselves which aides in the betterment of their
                    organizational skills and builds their communication skills as well
                    as their networking.

                 -  Throughout the years, SHESS has learned to build up
                    partnerships within other organizations, The Society of Women
                    Engineers (SWE), The Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and the
                    MESA Engineering Program (MEP). These partnerships are part of
                    SHESS' networking experiences. They hold fund-raisers and social
                    events together to work for the same goal of improving the clubs
                    and share their ideas.

                 -  Community Service is one of the most important projects that
                    SHESS offers to the students. They learn about giving back to
                    their communities and offering their own services. This helps to
                    build up the student's self-esteem and to continue finding their
                    goals since they can apply these skills to make a difference where
                    it is needed.
